Hello, I'm trying to build a City Rome level using TRC assets, it's my first time attempting to build city level and I'm finding it really hard properly dividing the rooms, designing the areas, the streets etc. all of that keeping in mind to also add the gameplay...

Do you have any tips for making this type of level?

Do I really need a sewer section to save me? XD jk

I've never seriously tried to build a city level myself, but I would suggest looking at the maps for TR2 Venice and TRC Rome and seeing how Core did it. TR2prj is buggy but you can usually grab room geometry without fail. Or you could open the level with the newest version of FexInspect and export the whole level to MQO and view it in Metaseq.

Oh I didn't know this! And you can even open encrypted levels for studying.

That is a good reason to complain.
Sorry to hear that.
I hope you haven't lost any work?

That said, my external HD broke down last week. Something mechanical judging by the sound it makes.
Soooo... pictures lost and such.

And the fan of my laptop started to make a lot of noise this past Wednesday.
And my phone is acting weird...

When it rains it poors...

I wholeheartedly recommend cloud storage for pictures! I pay Microsoft $1.99 for 100GB of storage on OneDrive and I keep all my photos there. It was originally 50GB of storage, but when I started to get close to that, they bumped it up to 100GB for free. I suspect they do that for most people.

I hope the laptop and phone are just flukes!

EDIT: I started replying to posts and then forget I came here to ask a question.

What do you guys think about set pieces in video games? I guess specifically in the TR reboot games? Frankly I really like them, but it seems like a lot of people don't. IDK, I feel like they break up the regular flow of gameplay and make for exciting, memorable moments. Even if your actual input is limited. I particularly love the first plane crash in TR2013 and the parachute sequence. It seems like they really cut back on these types of set pieces in Rise and Shadow.

Set pieces?

But the examples you mentioned (plane crash and parachute sections) are fine with me.
At least you got the control Lara during those segments instead of watching a long cutscene.

Thank you for the info! I was curious about that too. Another thing I always tried to find was the texture they used to fill in the text. Anybody has any idea what it is/where to find it?
