I would have loved to see Angie play a villain. Like Natla or something
It would be awesome to see AJ as the villain (she'd probably come off as more Lara than Lara in that case).

But they'd probably end up casting her as something cringe-worthy like... Lara's mother.

We were discussing this before, it's fake though. They used Daniel's name on the article to try and claim more credibility but it wasn't true at all. The only news Daniel has gave regarding TR2 is a casting breakdown for a character called Rourke.

I actually would prefer Angelina to just be a cameo, either as Amelia in the past (like Lynda Carter, aka Wonder Woman, in TR2001), or as an older Lara, with Alicia's Lara seeing herself in the future.

More than that could potential take too much focus on Alicia's own take as Lara, which should be the actual focus point of the movie.

The only thing is due to a continuity error in the first film on her tomb stone the dates mean Amelia died before Lara was born.

Obviously Lara was born from a surrogate mother using a frozen, fertilized egg from Amelia

That's the next films twist. Ana is her birth mother!

In all seriousness if this next film revolves around Lara and her family issues or family legacy my eyes will roll so far to the back of my head.

Just think Ladle of ****e (CoL) was critically better received the the first film and not one utterance of the word family was mentioned so if the sequel to TR2018 which was already somewhat liked by critics gets rid of the family issues it could be a smash.

Luckily, I don't think we're not going to have family drama again. At most, Ana drama ("Ana Drama" would be an awesome drag name xD) and perhaps mention the she hid that she knew why Richard disappeared and where he might have been, but mostly be about how Ana manipulated Lara, but not how she did it.

Whilst watching the first Tomb Raider film last night I really loved the scenes with Lara outdoors in Cambodia walking around the temples and I thought how great it could be if they actually went to physical temples and ruins film the next one if it is set in Mexico like we are all assuming.

Casting AJ as any character would be cringe. All your gonna be seeing is old school Lara Croft but as a different character. That's just going to be jarring. A funny or interesting cameo would be enough. That's like casting Dan Radcliff as Voldemort in 20 years time in a Harry Potter reboot. Sound interesting still?

AJ presence would steal the movie. I don't want her. It's an Alicia movie. A simple photo of Angelina as Amelia or a small flashback would be the only thing. I think they didn't show a single image of Lara's mother in TR2018 ... for some reason.
