On the Mac version, there were green healing crystals too, and you could save your game anywhere.

Has anyone on twitter asked Paul Douglas his thoughts? He was very active and usually always answers questions when asked. I don’t remember his @ though since I disabled my Twitter a while ago. His pfp is Pierre though. If anyone knows his @ you should ask him!

Nah, the switch surely could run something a lot more demanding than this. My guess is that the only reason they didn't touch the geometry is because of budget, maybe they didn't expected the announcement to take this big of a proportion.

I'm totally in favor of delaying the game till the October 24 (TR1 release date), so they can at least smooth out the geometry in some of the main areas.

I think they didnt touch the geometry because of the whole toggle from classic to remastered, it would be strange if you for example stood in new geometry, switched to classic and suddenly you'd fall to the floor, just to switch again and then be out of bounds.

I think that this is a bad example to show your point with.
Use neutral lights please.

You can modify the geometry without messing with the collision. So no adding big holes to the roof, but just making the ground smoother and stuff like that. They already did it for some things, like the venice windows, but that makes it even more jarring honestly.

It's also pretty obvious that some of the textures haven't been modified yet, so I really hope the video is a WIP.

Looks nice of course, but replacing some but not all the textures is just so lazy...

Just make it a menu feature then, so you have to exit the game to toggle it on/off.

It's kind of disheartening because these remasters are the only remasters that the classics are going to get (probably) and so far except for Lara's model and some smoothed characters /objects it's not quite what I would have expected out a remaster.
Because Core's AE was not just a remaster but a full-on remake. I don't think the scopes of these projects are comparable.

Sure. Fair point. To me it seems like they just imported new AI enhanced textures, but they didn't even bother to flip some of them correctly.

Please, please Aspyr surprise us with the final version! The classics deserve more attention to details.

Very excited about the announcement. It's even brought me back here for the first time in ages.
