TR3 HD Upscale x2
As requested, I've touched on TR3's textures today upscaled to 2048x2048, using the same algorithm as TR2, with TTA applied this time and detail preservation, edge smoothing +.4.
I noticed one thing with TR3 texs in particular, each level had 32 tex tiles in them, with a bunch of blank, black ones, that were left alone to reduce time. *Note: There is a font bug on Temple Ruins (*see in screenshot). I'm not sure exactly how this happened, but it's likely the scaling on the font tex. This level's texs can be swapped with GiovanniLucca's textures. This is the only level with that bug. Download Installation instructions same as before: Installation step-by-step: 1. If you have not already, download the Peixoto Patch. 2. Unzip the file to a folder of your choice. 3. Download the upscaled textures from the link above. 4. Unzip the textures to a folder of your choice. It does not have to be in the same patch or game location. 5. Start the application Help.exe of the Patch folder. 6. In the list on the left side, look for Tomb Raider 3. 7. On the right side, you have all the instructions on how the patch works. Click Texture Swapping. Now in Configure and in Path click on "..." and choose where you unzipped the upscaled textures folder. The destination location should point to folders Dumps and Replacements of the unzipped file. 8. Scroll down until you reach Settings. 9. Turn on Allow Dynamic Super Resolution. This option will make the game run at the maximum resolution of your monitor, with the correct aspect ratio and FOV. 10. Turn on Anisotropic Filtering. To improve the rendering of textures. 11. Now on the left side, click Start and indicate the installation path of your game, in the game folder click tomb3.exe. When you want to play the game with upscaled textures, start from the Help.exe application, choose Tomb Raider 2 from the list and click Start. Screens: View gallery |

I liked the style! looks like a cartoon!
Did you know that the new version of Photoshop (2019) has a new feature for upscale (preserve details 2.0) that works really well! I'm using it in some of the textures. |

It's a little something for now 'till GiovanniLucca's project sees to completion.

Textures look great, but the link is dead unfortunately
Any chance of you re-uploading it? I'd love to use it on my next replay! Last edited by paranoid tie; 30-11-19 at 12:27. |

The link was taken down by some third party, Square Enix or some dmca maybe. I got an email stating its removal, The same thing happen with TR5 upscale x2.

I mean, that's their specialty. Being pathetic and treating Tomb Raider fans like ****. It's nothing new, but still very disappointing.
Here you have fans wanting to restore old games because they aren't ****ig doing it, but they want to punish us for that. Jesus, how much of a **** company can they be. |
