Because their narrative space is so different.

It is weird to think about aliens and space and things existing in Lara's universe. The same as it is weird to think about Harry Potter's spells and things going on somewhere in the same universe as Lara is running around Venice.

That's why I say crossovers should share the same narrative space. A good crossover, as cliché as it may be, is Indiana Jones, or something. Or even Jurassic Park.

Aliens do exist there. Remember Area 51 in TR3?

When it comes to crossovers, what about James Bond?
I know it sounds kinda like a cliche too as Lara has been also referenced to be a female James Bond, in a way, but it could be interesting. Movie-Lara did work with MI6 in the 2nd movie, though it's not canon anymore (reboot-universe and it wasn't even canon in the game-universe to begin with). But it could work imo.

Classic Lara that also influenced movie Lara were both very James Bond like.
Unphased by danger, quick wit, sarcastic humor, able to survive anything, and always gets the girl/treasure.

I don't think the modern Lara would fit in, so to speak, with James Bond as much as Classic Lara or maybe even LAU Lara would.

Hmm, true... What about Lara Croft -series crossover then?
Actually how would that work, James Bond don't really go to ancient ruins

That's the part that would be kind of tough. James Bond and Lara would have to be facing off against the same foe and whatever that foe wants would be an artifact of power. James would want to stop the bad guy and Lara would too but she'd also want the treasure for her own collection.

In terms of locations and story I can think of would be VCI from chronicles.

Steam is having a sale on all the Tomb Raider games. I was thinking of buying TR1-5 ($1.39 each) since I can't be arsed to rebuy them again on the PS4. Are the Steam/PC ports any good?

Would a VCI kind-of-levels work in the LC isometric universe?

Best crossover would be with Corto Maltese, since he too does go on adventures in exotic places. Too bad that apart from my uncle and one guy on the Bioware forum I have never met anyone who knows who Corto Maltese is

The best kind of crossovers are when both universes are merged together, as if they've been one universe the whole time. The "Character gets transported to X and meets Y" kind of crossovers hardly ever work out well.
