Default Tomb Raider Image Converter 2.0.1

Hi everybody,

a quick little update here. My good friend Suikaze Raider made me aware of a Sega Saturn bin-image with a resolution of 320x240, and TRIC 2.0 could not convert it.

Therefore I present to you: TRIC 2.0.1. It's pretty much identical except for a change in two lines of code, that adds support for a Sega Saturn bin-file with a resolution of 320x240.

It can still be downloaded on my website b122251.org (under Tomb Raider -> Tools -> Tomb Raider Image Converter.

Bye.

Nice I noticed a lot of the images in this thread are gone, perhaps someone could reupload them?

Does anyone tried to convert the standards TR2 images to HD or full HD? All the images are pixeled/low res.

That is unfortunately not possible with the sources we have. My TRIC tool converts losslessly, meaning all the quality that is in the original files, is converted to the bmp's. What TRIC produces, is all there is. The loading screens on ps1 weren't taller than 256 pixels. I suppose you could upscale them to a larger size (using some form of interpolation) but no detail will be added to it. The quality will not have gotten any better. To get a higher quality version of the loading screens, you need to get them from a different source. If you could get your hands on the original files used to render the loading screens it would be possible. But it is unknown if a copy of those even still exists.

I get it. It would be great if someone with an image editing experience did a remaster of those files to be added later in some kind of PC patch. I loved the Tomb Raider 2 loading screens, especially the purple bar during loading. I hope someone will do it someday. : p

Though I admit they look nice, there's not really any more detail in the pictures. I don't know...
