Default It won't run through Steam

Heey guys. I have a little problem with Chronicles.

If I want to run the game through Steam from the desktop shortcut or by pressing PLAY on the game's Steam page, the game won't start BUT if I go to the installation folder and double click the PCTomb5 executable, the game will run xD

Is there any way to make it run through Steam ?

Are you able to open the configuration program before you start the game?

Yeah, I can run the setup when I press "Play" on Steam and choose the Setup option but I can't run the game. If I go to the installation folder and double click the executable, it runs fine

The game itself doesn't have any DRM, so even if you close steam and run it from the executable Steam will not open. So the issue is with your Steam.

I am not sure what exactly could be the problem cause all works well on my end I just tried.

You could try to reinstall Steam, disable overlay in the game, verify file integrity or try some of the Steam Launch Parameters (https://appuals.com/steam-set-launch...and-full-list/) and see if any of them help.

I tried some of the commands, disabled steam overlay, checked the integrity files again and again it won't run through Steam. I guess I will have to re-install Steam. If it won't work, I will play the game without Steam.

I haven't had any problems with the other TR games (1,2,3,4,6) so it's weird. Thanks anyway for your help, I appreciate it !

Maybe Steam generates some kind of a crash log somewhere that could be of help, but I am not sure where or if such a file exists for Steam. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking of, that Steam may cause some errors down the road one war or another but it's okay. It's not that important. I can play the game without the Steam overlay.

Update : Played with the exe file a little bit and made it run on compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3 and now it runs through Steam too xD

If anyone will encounter this problem, this is the fix.
