So how exactly does the ultimate cheat disc work?

Does it just edit your safe data? it doesn't permanently screw with the game or the saves data in any bad way?

All the cheats you activate will stay if you save your game, you will not lose them and they are not any dangerous =)

So does the cheat disc modify save games?

can the cheats be disabled for the most part?

If I start a new game/delete my old saves do the cheats stay active?

I had it back in 2003/2004. You put the disc, choose your cheats and then put the game and it loads with the cheats. If you save your game the only cheats that will get saved are the weapons one.

The cheats about "flying Lara" (gravity less jumps) will not stay if you reload the savegame if I remember correctly. Not sure about the cheats adding blood effect or immortality.

There's some tricks tho, the immortal cheats will let Lara alive if she falls into a deadly pit so you're basically stuck. If you access an area you're not supposed to access and save there, the game will crash when reloading it. (Like saving after not triggering a cutscene...)

It's a very cool cheat CD, I mainly enjoyed it back then because it gave easy access to the level select option (the official cheat code is a nightmare) and mostly it let you play with double guns.

That one is only for the PAL version for the PS2.

Great question. I don't know. lol I even wasted some of my money to buy that, and I just thought that it works on all versions of the PS2 consoles besides the PAL version ones.
