At most we might have some key art and maybe more casting announcements, but I feel it still is too soon.
Arcane got a teaser trailer way back in 2019, so it's not that far off

Different studio though, even if both are animated series from Netflix. Castlevania might be a better example for this, and its first teaser was released closer to its debut.

I do hope I am wrong, though. It would be cool to get at least more info and maybe some key art, if it is still too soon for a trailer

We don't even have info on the directors yet. So maybe it will be info on that.

They could at least show us what Lara will look like in the anime.

Has this been discussed yet?

It seems Netflix is cancelling a lot of its shows, and not just animated shows.

I don't know how this will affect the TR anime, but I guess it'll depend on how far along into production they were with the current season.

Now that TR has been sold, anything can happen.

Not really, because the TV rights still belong to Legendary, regardless of what Square Enix just did. Just like it won't affect the Amazon/MGM movie if that indeed ends up happening.

As for Netflix cancelling things, the deal was already made for 2 seasons as well, worst thing is we might not get a third season. Still, since the rights actually belong to Legendary and not Netflix, Legendary can just try to sell the show to a different platform if that's the case. And I can see Amazon snatching the show if that's the case, considering they already have the rights for live-action Tomb Raider. Would make Prime video the de facto house of Tomb Raider media...

They are canceling original IP to be focused on IP known by the general audience so I think TR has nothing to be worried.

Thank you guys for this info! I did not know about the deal being made for 2 seasons. Hopefully that still stands. I just figured since they've written the whole first season (afaik) and have 3 actors cast for voices, we would at least be getting the first season, even if its a standalone, depending on how well the show does. But at least they have a deal for two season so that gives them a bit more wiggle room to tell a proper story *if* two seasons is all they can work with.
