Blah blah blah underworld's controls are horse crap, but I was wondering is it possible to mod the Legend/Anniversary engine into underworld? As in the way Lara controls. I have no idea if that is even possible or makes sense, but the game would be so much better with those controls

Nope. Get used to it

I cant speak for future modding but at present you definately cannot port over control systems

That is because of the new animation system.
