Yeah..Anniversary's soundtrack was just too dramatic...especially that god damn main theme.
TRI started out with the flute which gave a sense of isolation. Which really set the tone and mood. TRA did have some nice background noises like the deep chanting in egypt and whispers. |

... and it was developed in the span of those two days, I take it.
Point still stands. This stuff was already in TR by the time Half-Life was released. Also, the aforementioned dragon was the first TR to introduce a boss fight that wasn't just 'shoot at it until it dies'. |

Playing this game feels like "What if TR1 were set during the pandemic?", with a one-way system installed in every level, and loads of interesting puzzles shut down and iconic areas closed off.
Also I'm pretty sure on my playthrough several Atlanteans died the minute they burst out of their eggs. Perhaps that was CD's homage to the ending of Unfinished Business? There's a thought - I'd love it if modders could add all the missing parts of TR1 back into this game, including the Unfinished Business levels. Last edited by Teeth; 13-10-20 at 07:12. |

Wow so much hate for something that honestly isn't that bad at all.
I'm half way through it on a replay and many of the points made are not what they are in game. Will follow up when I completely finish. Maybe will make a thread. |

My favorite complain was that one that said CD turnt a simple, easy challenge room into a bigger, more complex one (fire room in Midas).
