They switched to Unreal Engine since that leak so much of what they did in the previous engine (at least in terms of the actual gameplay) was most likely scrapped entirely. They also confirmed that they switched to Unreal around 15 months ago so I wouldn't expect anything from TR12 any time soon.

I can say they had multiple projects going, on the old engine. But they're now probably scrapped in favour of UE being used. Shame that those projects clearly suffer the same fate as Shadow of the Tomb Raider: DLC08 (which is a massive kick to the nuts, esp since that DLC was the best one and could have salvaged a lot of people's opinion on Shadow as a whole) Can't complain though, the game was only projected in scope to have 4 DLCs, we were very lucky to get 7 of them.

yeh, to be honest, the holes are not great.

I dunno, it's clearly Alicia Vikander, but just tweaked enough to lean more towards the classic vision rather than the Rebooted Lara. I definitely see sass in it

I don't believe it works like that. I have made some indie games myself. Gameplay code doesn't get thrown away when you switch the engine. The code is adaptable and can be tweaked so they will almost certainly be bringing all that written code to the new engine. Nothing is started from scratch from the previous games or engines. You just add on top which makes me hopeful that it's not too far off.
