This time the focus is on unused entity 93, the Drawbridge.
Like the Springboard, the code for this entity was ported directly from TR2. As expected, it works the exact same as it did in the previous iteration. The Drawbridge uses SFX 184 when lowering, and SFX 185 when rising. Video: |

In TR2 a light source was hardcoded to appear when the drawbridge falls, is it the case in TR3 too? I didn't see any in the video

It turns out the Drawbridge and the Minisub share the part of the code that handles their control, the Projectile Flames being treated separately. The light makes sense when dealing with the Minisub, not so much with the Drawbridge. Since the Drawbridge is used only twice, I think the devs didn't see fit to bother with that oversight. It doesn't happen in TR3 because the part of the code that caused this effect was removed, even though both the Drawbridge and the Minisub (ID 96) wound up to go unused. But at least it tells that the devs at one point seriously considered using the Drawbridge, so there is that. |

Why does the SFX for it sound like a small dog barking?

Because the bridge is powered by the tortured souls of all the dobermanns Lara killed last game... certainly not because the devs never got around to updating the sound ID the object uses. Serves them right for the amount of health they take. I'll see myself out now.

Was this unused because of the retextured drawbridge in the Temple Ruins wad???

Your finds are very helpful for TR3 builders, because they can now use this unused resources for his customs. Good job!
