Anyone know of similar games /films to AOD?
Like something that gives off the same vibe and has similar game-play mechanics? Or games / films that inspired the game?

Not sure about the same game mechanics, but I think games and movies with a similar gloomy atmosphere & story must exist. So, I join the question.

maybe... PRIMAL????
This game is one of the most underrated PS2 games. Also, some people from TRAOD team worked on it. (Karel's voice actor voiced King Hernie in Primal and Jenn's boyfriend voice in spanish is the same voiceactor who voiced spanish Kurtis) There's also a "shady" AoD easter egg in Primal http://abload.de/img/shadej8qud.jpg so iconic. |

Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LS5...u.be&t=1h1m52s The beginning from 1:48 slightly reminds me of Tomb Raider: Legend, Tomb Raider: Underworld and Tomb Raider 3. Then from 1:01:52 there are more TRAOD looking and feeling locations like Prague and Turkey. From 2:39:20 there is some gameplay that has The Archaeological Dig and Tomb of Ancients feeling. At 3:16:38 kraken boss with Tomb Raider: Underworld touch. From 3:23:05 Tomb Raider: Legend Japan looking gameplay. And towards the end from 6:05:52 there is Tomb Raider 2 reminding gameplay. The menu of the game also reminds me of Tomb Raider 2 or Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation. TRAOD was in fact compared to Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb. I think in some Gamespot video, perhaps in TRAOD's preview or review video by Adrian Smith? Both games were released in 2003. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets video game also looks a little bit gothic but the game is not that similar to TRAOD. James Bond 007: NightFire was shown at E3 2002 together with TRAOD but it is a different gender video game than TRAOD. The beginning looked quite promising though and then its gets boring. When it comes to conversations with dialogue options in TRAOD I think Shadow of Memories is something similar. Perhaps TRAOD took that idea from it. As of movies The Da Vince code has some TRAOD feeling. James Bond movies like the beginning of Casino Royale in Prague or rooftop jumping scene in Quantum of Solace may give some TRAOD moment. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban may have some TRAOD looking places. There is actually no other video game or movie that gets even close TRAOD, its level, depth, quality and experience. Of course, classic Tomb Raider video games would be the closest choice for some references but even compared to them TRAOD kind a stands on its own. If only Core Design continued developing the trilogy, we would definitely have had some more of that, few more boxes with neat covers and the thrill inside... And there is a movie of Angelina Jolie that it feels a little "Croftianian". Agent Salt.

Eternal Darkness is what first comes to mind. It's a horror game for the GameCube with a female protagonist (though you place as others). Sort of gothic undertones. It felt like a Core Design game (well, with a big budget and more quality control)

Dark Sector, with a main character close of what Kurtis could have been if fully exploited. Great game also.
