General PlayStation Chat
I thought it'd be a good idea to have a thread about ALL PlayStation generations instead of separating them as new generations come about. This way we can discuss older entries and the platform in general.

Does anyone still have their old consoles?
I have all of them except the PS1. My dad sold it back in the day when he got the PS2 bc it was backwards compatible. I have a fat PS2, slim PS2, fat PS3, slim PS3, white PS4, and white PS4 Pro. I’m clearly a Sony Pony |

^Well I do!
Apart from my PS4 I've still got two slim PS2's and I use one of them frequently to play classic Tomb Raiders or classic Resident Evil. Nice thread Philip. Last edited by JsotoTRSaga; 21-04-19 at 13:10. |

Bought a Japanese AOD ps2 game a few years ago and I still am not sure as to why it won’t work on my ps2? Anyone know?

Sony has been my go to console since 2001, however, this new policy about nudity and explicit content in M rated games is ridiculous. Since DMC I'm not sure how I feel about the big bosses but however, I do love the console very much.
@lance Some games had region locks. U can't play an NTSC game NA in a PAL EU game console. So pretty sure that's what happened and Japan has its own region lock. Bc of this Ps3 had removed it completely. Last edited by Heisenberg; 21-04-19 at 13:52. |

I still have my PS2 boxed away; a silver slim model. It still plays games really well, thankfully. In the age of 4K TV's, games look really rough but I'm glad I still have it. My PS3 is hooked up next to my PS4. I'm really glad the PS5 is backwards compatible with PS4 games, and I'm really hoping it can play PS2 discs.
Thanks, but my name is Seth (now). |

I have fond memories of the original Playstation, few of the PS2 and the PS3 is nothing but patches and waiting for it to do anything at all. I think the PS4 is the first Playstation that I feel is a legit good console without any compromise.
The PS2 is region locked, Japanese models will only play Japanese games, US models only US games and European/Australian models only European/Australian games. This was normal back in the day. It sucks, but everyone did it. You can try region hacks through a memory card, pretty easy to set up. |

I've posted this before but I do have a revised wishlist for the PS5.

I mean... It's nice to want things, but most on the list is nigh impossible.
