Enter charmed to ruin it all

Or just me craving for attention

Anyway I think Shadow does have some really good music, specifically the DLCs.

In a way I agree: you take a single track (like the one you shared) and it sounds beautiful and phenomenal.

But again, all tracks use the same the same leitmotifs, the same instrumentation, the same rhythms, over and over again, that everything ends up sounding too same-y as a whole. Which is a shame, individually they are incredible, but put them together and it all starts sounding too monotone and the tracks end up blending too much with each other.

Let us not forget this masterpiece, along with the set piece music in Rise!

something about rise's music is cool, but it's so forgettable to me. asdjfk;

TR2013, had that glass sound and weird instrument (the one they made) and those big drums which i remember.

Rise???

Shadow was mostly drums, and then the violins

Isn’t that the Cistern theme smashed together with the Rise-version of the Reboot theme? I don’t think that Bobby Tahouri even tried...

I found Rise’s music to be cozy, calming (which is actually OK, but not consistently) and monotonous, which shouldn’t happen in a TR game. TR2013 was memorable somewhat enough, (‘cause of that beauty of themes:. Reboot, Survivor, and the bridge set-piece one). Shadow is my favorite because of its variety and different leitmotifs, I dare to say it is the best OST we got since Anniversary (Underworld’s OST was a mess...)

Thumbs up Mova

Does Shadow of the Tomb Raider use MOVA technology?

Or could they not use it because of the issue of rights?

Or didn't they say anything about it?

What is your opinion ?

Anything ?

?.

I don't think so. Crystal were sued for using it in ROTTR. I think they've used some similar tech.

MOVA uses a special spay that was put on the actors faces, to get 7000 facial references. In SOTTRs behind the scenes vids, you can see Camilla and Earl using a couple of reference points instead (though, the MOVA spray was invisible to the naked eye, I still don't think they've used it in SOTTR).

Somehow, I think SOTTR ended up looking better in facial capture/movements in cinematics

As a term of comparison:

ROTTR (MOVA):

SOTTR: (it's hard to see, but she's using way less reference points than ROTTR)

My son was talking to a friend about the SotTR DE. The reply? Yeah I like Tomb Raider, that's the one with the girl with the big boobs, right?

That legacy will never end, lmao!

Well, at least my mom's reply was better. When I asked her if she knows what Tomb Raider/Lara Croft is, she replied 'Angelina Jolie'
