Amazing work as always guys.. not jealous at all!

As for me - really getting to grips with building caves and more unique areas..
I always struggled on how to NOT build square looking rooms lol

Went back and studied how TR1-3 were build and some of the tricks they used to make caves etc.. (mainly how portals can make shapes using floor/ceiling)
This is what I have so far.. a vast cavern Lara enters as she explores Egypt.
A locked door blocks her access to another grand cavern which holds something far more interesting..



Looking at it now, it looks basic as hell - but let me tell you - not using triangles is hard work LOL

Another room - lacks lighting so far, and not 100% on the texturing yet (thanks to the small door at the end)
Went for kind of an TRAE vibe with a new edited flame holder - TR1 didn't use fire for decoration so I think it looks nice..
Wanted the original fire sprites, but sadly can't be done unless I fake it with some animating textures.. might see if I can get it to work, but otherwise the TR3/4 style sprites look OK if a tad out of place.. using NGLE so its the TR4 engine

I love the look of that area. The skeleton makes me want to go inside that hallway.

And that TR1 skeleton is custom by me.. I like it haha

I really like the lighting and the texture work but I feel like the rooms look a bit too big, open and empty. That corridor could've probably done with being at least a square narrower. (Which, I understand that the arch you've got going there now wouldn't quite work anymore but if you're deadset on that shape, I suppose that could be fixed in Meta2TR?)

And I'd maybe change the ceiling texture so it has those corner beams that gothic vault ceilings tend to have (or also add them as geometry in Meta):

I'm not ready for use Meta2TR yet...

Rooms are empty because it's just a WIP, but yes, I know what you mean. I've been "studing" those medieval ceiling structures for a while (I have a lot of practice now for building them on TRLE) but the point is that if I try to made them as much realistic as I can, then I suppose that I have to build the entire level with all that realism and well, I guess I can but it would be so much for me... Hope you understand what I'm trying to say.
