You need many room connected together, but you will need a "plan ( in your head maybe :') )" before doing that, else it will be a mess to fix it

I dont know if you have already a level to be asking that, but i wont recommand adding it to it, for a house like the one lara croft have in the TR1/TR3 game, you need more than 200+ room, for a low house size, like the one in TR3 crash site, it would be minimum 2 room, one for the middle with the wall and floor, and one for the roof, or another floor, the rest is up to you if you want to add the exterior (but dont connect the wall part to the external room !) except for the entrance.
PS: it's a bit complicated, maybe a tutorial have been created somewhere in this site to help you more
