Beta PSX FMVs for PC project

Hi everyone

Like the title says, this is a project to make the beta psx movies work on the PC version of Tomb Raider Chronicles. The same idea was previously requested here but it's been two years since.

PC Vanilla | Beta PSX

English subtitle versions are also available.

A few notes:

The beta psx videos does not have the correct audio. I've extracted the audio from the retail psx videos and mixed them with the beta psx videos.
Restored Zip's full dialogue in the VCI intro movie, this is missing from the pc version.
Due to the TR5 engine limitations - the VCI intro movie cuts off early, so you'll see Lara enter the chute but you won't see her sliding inside and the subsequent fade-out to black.
Linear interpolation is used for upscaling.
The beta movies are available in bink format which can be used ingame, and AVI format which hopefully will be supported by TRC someday.

Options to choose from:

Bink: Upscaled to 640x480
Bink with English subtitles: Upscaled to 640x480
AVI: Not upscaled
AVI with English subtitles: Upscaled to 1440x1080

I however don't need any of those early version scenes of TR5 for my PC just to only listen to the soundtrack. -__- That's boring for me to do.

Ooo, this is really cool! Except for the Jean FMV, what are the differences between each FMV Sequences if I may ask?

Judging by the photos the light coming from direct sources looks less posterized.
It is pretty cool to see Jean. Does he suddenly sound much less French?

@CircusBabysGal Of course you may ask! Actually all the cutscenes are nearly identical, and Charles Kane was a last-minute change because Core wanted to avoid a potential lawsuit. The scene when Lara's friends arrive to look at the Iris artifact lasts a couple of seconds longer in beta, which is why I've removed a small part of Zip in the van to keep the audio synced up. There are a couple of subtle differences I've noticed when working on this project:

PC | Beta PSX

In the first movie - the further the view is from the tv, the more it turns black and white, this doesn't happen on beta.

In the cutscene after Rome, the philosopher's stone seems to be amber-like in the pc movie, but red in beta.

I wasn't entirely happy with fmv7 so I went back to re-adjust the part where Zip's scene is shortened. Apologises to anyone that had already downloaded it, please grab it again
