The eels in Shadow pretty much played the part seen in that concept so it's no big lose.

Also, I'm only terrified of actual snakes, but I can handle two legged ones just fine |

Why wouldn't I expect finding a big constrictor snake in either of those places?
Well, because they don't exist there! The largest snakes in the world are members of the Boidae and Pythonidae families, aka Boas and Pythons. A quick search tells me that in Turkey/Syria area, the only constrictor snakes we find are javelin sand boas that only grow to 80 cm in total length. As for the Geothermal Valley, since that's in Siberia, I looked up what snakes we can find there and there's no constrictors. The only possibility would be an extinct species to have survived in the Geothermal Valley, in which case, the site I linked says that "the snake fauna in Siberia may be homogeneous -- or having one source -- with groups of snake fauna in Europe", so I looked up snakes in Europe and the only constrictors around here are also sand boas. So unless they made them some crazy mutant overgrown snakes, big constrictor snakes like the one pictured in the concept art don't fit the locations of Rise. |

^ Give it a non-wildlife twist: Ana and Konstantin kept a serpent as pet in the orphanage. They took care of it, fed it, then Trinity did their part to make it grow when they joined their ranks.
And there you are: a Nagini-style serpent to command. It sounds stupid, but it always comes down to execution |

But I get your idea. Still, I was just explaining why I wouldn't expect finding them there. Over-the-top, crazy situations are unexpected scenarios. |

In all seriousness, I don't mind facing a nasty creature in an unlikely place. I'm a fan of the 2 t.rexes in TR2's China after all. It's the "what the **** am I seeing!?" experience. |
