Problem with running game
Hi there.
I installed TR1 with this special installer or what, i did everything what is in guide on tombraiderchronicles.com. Well, i installed it without Glidos or this second program, only original. I got a shortcut on desktop, and when i click on it and wanna play i got error - Tomb Raider (VDM) NTVDM CPU contains invalid instruction. CS:c000 IP:1f1f OP: df ff 80 f9 08 What is bad? First uninstall TR1 and delete it's folder. Then perform the following steps:
1. Install VDMSound. 2. Reboot your PC. 3. Install TR1 using TRAI, choose DgVoodoo 1.40+. 4. Run TR1 via desktop shortcut, DON'T use autorun menu. 5. If any issue remains, run Diagnose.exe and post the report. May any TR series mod move that to the basement? |

Try downloading and running these alternate executable files that are preconfigured for glidos (and DgVoodoo):
http://download.glidos.net/TR1/TrAndUbForGlidos.exe It worked for me after I had the same problem so it's worth a try. EscondeR you may want to suggest these for the future. Like I said it worked for me so chances are it will work for somebody else. |

One thing i noticed about another DOS game, Leisure Suit Larry 7, is that trying to force it to save on my "game drive" (F) is just asking for trouble.
Sometimes you just have to let it be. Same with The Sims 2 plus expansions, its already a nightmare to update and install, its the first game i accepted to save on drive C, which i normally keep for program files only. Just let it save to C. |
