Default New Natla concept art

A couple of possibly unseen concept art pieces that were done by Paul Sullivan, one although not used in the game, looks very interesting.

The second one reminds me of the atlantean 'war machine' on the additional level core mentioned they had in plans.. Perhaps CD intended the same, but didn't have time? Thank you SO much for showing me. You just made me love CD a bit more!

Awesome! Natla looks just like in the game, she has that same elegant yet creepy look.

As for the torso (if this actually is the torso)... I liked the in-game one, but this is just killer. Much scarier... maybe too scary for CD/Eidos.

No its not the torso, it seems to be based on a mutated spider, although it does remind me a bit of Qualopec's exoskeleton. Natla is riding it, so l doubt it would have replaced the torso boss battle. Natla is in her scorched/demonic form, which would not appear till after she fell from the platform.

Perhaps Natla's little pet will make an appearance in a later game. Or perhaps Atlantis was so short because they tried this and could not get it to work properly, and never had time to do anything else. l have to admit, if Natla had chased Lara all over the pyramid on that creepy spider, l would have set a record for finding the nearest exit.
