Default I forgot this... did you?

From the January 2011 Game Informer article...
(written by Meagan Marie back when she worked there)

Her passion for antiquity was inescapable. Lara Croft was groomed from a young age to look for the past before the present, forgoing traditional holiday gatherings in favor of family excursions to archaeological digs. This methodical upbringing had its intended effect on the young Croft, instilling a love of the unknown that drives her to uncover rational explanations for the most heavily ensconced mysteries.
While Lara's affinity for the ancient is effortless, she often finds herself struggling to carve an identity of her own from under her parents' influential shadow. She comes form money, but refuses to flaunt it. Her name garners respect, but she craves to earn it. She dreams of proving herself, but wants to pursue her passion on her own terms. To that end, she unexpectedly turned down an open invitation to Cambridge and enrolled at a lesser known university to immerse herself in real world experiences. This time was crucial in molding Lara into a practical and levelheaded young woman, grounded in a way that her parents' itinerary would never have allowed.

Now 21 and fresh from academy, Lara is eager to prove herself to the world - and perhaps to her parents. This drive places Lara aboard the salvage vessel Endurance with captain Conrad Roth, an ex-Royal Marine commando known for his willingness to bend (or break) the law to secure a prize. Together, the crew sets off on a voyage to search for lost relics off the coast of Japan. This first adventure was intended to be a definitive moment in a young and inexperience Lara's career, a chance to change history with a discovery of significance.
Before they reach the isle, the expedition is derailed by a massive storm that cleaves the Endurance in two, leaving an unprepared Croft lost in a sea of blackness. Instead of finding respect and renown, Lara will be pushed to the limits of human fortitude. A very mortal Croft must endure both physical and emotional trauma to survive

Theres a lot more in the article, much of which I forgot...
I dont think the scans ever made their way onto the forum, cuz the article was the games debut, and was embargoed... some very interesting stuff in here... and a very well written article by Meagan as well (maybe thats why they hired her)

Are you talking about the GI reveal back in December 2010/January 2011?
That whole thing was like a meteorite smashing into the globe of this forum. Every last detail from the site and the magazine was posted, double posted and dissected under the microscope of the TR fandom here.

I see this thread's in connection with what was being discussed in L2R's thread (I haven't read the posts though). What's in this article that's been forgotten? Whatever it is, I can't see it

No.

This:

is why we all thought her parents were alive in the first place. Everyone was going crazy over the possibility that this new bio could be closer to the original one than the LAU trilogy bio was. But now they are missing. Possibly dead, even.

Theres been a lot of discussion lately about her money and why she doesnt use it...
A lot of disscussion about her parents and what background they have...
And we were discussing the possibility that Lara in fact charted the Endurance, to search for her parents in the devils triangle, thus the whole, "its all my fault" line...

@L2R
Thanks for pointing that out, clearly I need an eye test for not spotting that

Personally, I'd put it down to the article being old. It's been nearly two years, I'm sure things have been tweaked.
