Best Graphics Settings?
AOD is my favourite part of the series (despite all the bugs and plotholes), i never get bored replaying it, so i come here with a question.
Which graphic setting will make AOD look nicest in the game (performance doesn't matter), and are there any good mods beside that bloom mod, Emb or what is it called, i am trying to avoid that one. It's not very urgent but it would be nice if someone anwsered soon Thanks in advance! |

In the game, choose High Quality graphics, move the Gamma marker down to the red line, and in the window outside of the game, enable fog, the resolution your monitor supports, and if you have a 16:9 monitor change the number in the Monitor Aspect box to 1.7, or if it's 16:10, put in 1.6.

I know those, i meant specific settings, like shadows, reflections, textures, and every setting that can be used to make the game better. I already fixed the aspect, resolution and gamma

To be honest, most of the settings make little to no difference, especially those about the textures.
These are my settings: Basically: 1. First, from the default settings choose "PS 2.0". 2. About the textures, when you have a choice between for example 32bit XRGB and 32bit ARGB, choose the ARGB one as it's the best. 3. About the "Depth" lists. When you have a choice between for example 32bit DX and 32bit DS, take the second one as it's the best. 4. If you have an nvidia geforce card, untick "Pixel Shader 2.0 Shadows" and tick "Nvidia Shadows". 6. Set your own resolution, monitor aspect and monitor size. 7. Make the rest as in the picture above. Also remember to lower your brightness ingame to 1.00. For some odd reason it is brightened a bit by default. This should make your game use all the possible effects and the best textures. Most of them do nothing as they adapt to your graphics card. Except enbseries, which unfortunately didn't want to work for me, there's an alternative called FXAA Tool. It's mainly used with Skyrim, but it works also with other games including TRAOD. It adds a nice sharpen effect and it can also saturate your game. At the moment it seems it doesn't add it's bloom/hdr though. Last edited by Caesum; 08-12-12 at 21:35. |

You mean the part where you check textures? It locks itself whenever you check Multisampling so don't worry about it.

For some reason I always got problems with the Nvidia shadows option, on different Nvidia cards. The shadows are very pixelated in some rooms with this option. Also, widescreen resolutions can cause graphical bugs and glitches on the outer sides of the monitor.
