Default Windows 8 Fullscreen fix

I have edited a compatibility patch for Gothic 1 and 2 to work with Tomb Raider IV. It has a simple .batch file installation, but there is also a tutorial how to apply it manually(and it's also a hint of how to make your own patches).

The original patch was made by Garrett, I have only modified it for Tomb Raider IV.
With the same method it is possible to fix fullscreen borders of other TR games. It is also possible to apply a lot more compatibility settings with this method(and believe me, Windows 8 has LOTS of them). Since it's my first patch I have only made it for tomb4.exe. Please test it and tell me if it works for you.

To install just click install.bat. To uninstall click uninstall.bat. It should work with every version, since it does not replace or edit any files, but haven't tested it with other game verions yet. It's possible it affects TRLE executable as well.

EDIT: It does fix all original/TREP TRLE levels too!

It's working for me! Nice to be able to actually see my health bar. Thanks!

Well, I can't test it anytime soon, because I don't use Win8 as my main OS, and for some reason it doesn't run games on a virtual machine (even though Vista and 7 don't have any problems running games on a VM).

This sounds interesting and I didn't know Windows 8 didn't allow the classics to be displayed properly in fullscreen mode.

I can't try it as I'm using Windows 7 but it seems you did a great work there.

Any before / after screenshots ?

Here you are:

Before:

After:

Notice the "before" picture has window borders even in fullscreen. This patch fixes it.

The patch has also Vista compatibility applied as far as I remember, but if people get interested in such patches then I can make a new version without it.

Oh wow, the original version look awful with those borders !
Not sure about the previous games but I'm expecting Tomb Raider Chronicles to encounter the similar problem, isn't it ?

Great improvement there, well done ! You should do more, no doubt they would be useful to a lot of users.

I just installed your fullscreen fix for Windows 8, Caesum, and it works like a charm! No problems, no issues, no hassles!

I've tested it on The Last Revelation, The Times Exclusive, and various TRLE levels. All are displaying beautifully now on Windows 8!

It's great to be able to see Lara's health bar, as in a normal game--- no more guessing about how much damage she's taken.

Thank you for this useful development--- I think you have done a great service to the TR community.

Tested it on Windows 10 Technical Preview, works.

The funny thing is, though, TR4 crashes right after the menu loading bar fills, but TR4 Times level works properly. What kind of sorcery is this. Will investigate.
