Default Fixes for Young Lara and the Cambodia levels

Hi guys!

I’ve recently worked on these minor improvements for the two opening Cambodia levels of TR4.

This mod fixes the missing face on Lara’s hand and also an incorrectly rotated texture on her butt. The mod also fixes 3 missing, misplaced, or misrotated textures in ‘Angkor Wat’, and missing water textures in ‘Race for the Iris’. I’m aware these are minor flaws most may have never noticed, but below you’ll see some screenshot comparisons of the improvements, and hopefully a few perfectionists out there will enjoy the results.

Normally editing the level files creates bugs, but the program TRViewer was used for this, rather than Fexmerger, and all bugs have been avoided or fixed. A huge thanks goes out to ATombRaiderFan and Jathom95 who helped me test these levels so I could fix any bugs. Everything runs perfectly now, but if you catch anything off then please report it and I’ll strive to fix it.

Get it here >>> Download

Installation: Download the zip folder and extract the two files (angkor1.tr4 and ang_race.tr4) and place them in the TR4 main directory Data folder. Click to overwrite when prompted. Be sure to make a backup of the original two files just to be safe.

Enjoy!!!

Thumbs up

It's wonderful to see Lara's left hand isn't missing the extra poly anymore, it's a notable fix to have because of the Iris cutscene. I've just downloaded your levels to keep along with level mods like the Giza torch fix, so they'll be ready for my next playthrough.

The comparison screenshots youíve posted are much appreciated, and most of these I've never even noticed! I'm still kicking myself for never knowing that there's a missing texture above Lara when she's floating in the spot near the medpacks. Itís great to see the missing water effects is restored too.

Thank you .snake. for your dedication to this project, I believe it's a must-have for any TR4 fan. I hope someday you'll find a way to implement the same fixes for Young Lara in Chronicles

I have a few more texture fixes planned for some other TR4 levels, which will take up enough of my time. So I won't touching TR5 just yet. If you know of any texture issues throughout all of TR4 that you'd like fixing, let me know because it might be stuff I myself have never noticed. More eyes are better than two.

This is what I call attention to detail. Thanks!!!

Are there any more of these issues across the game that need fixing?

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this kind of OCD.

I'm sure there are, but for the time being I focused on these two levels since they are more contained.

Right now, no other texture issues in the rest of the game come to mind, but if any of you guys can think of any or spot them on your next playthrough, post a screen and it should be an easy fix.

Never noticed these weird textures before. Is this also in the PS1 version?
